Welcome!

Welcome! My name is Heidi Kunkel and I am starting out the new year with a fresh outlook. I have been an artist ever since I was a child. Art has always been a major part of my personality. I have (along with my regular jobs) been actively at it for some years now and I can't say I am really a "professional artist"  (haven't made an actual living at it )but I think I have definitely defined myself as "an artist" I think anyone has, once you have developed a style and progressed.. shown or sold some pieces, even have commissions.  Creativity can be fun and infectious. Art can be exciting, yet frustrating, but it can also be a great escape.  Whether it be drawing, painting, singing, playing an instrument, etc., 

I primarily work in graphite pencils, along with pastel or acrylic paint. I have drawn and painted many subjects. A few years ago I got into bird watching and last year decided to make that my main love, along with wildlife, my art. I find birds predictable and unpredictable. Beautiful, even in the juvenile ones, such as starlings, jays.. even the sweet flighty sparrows. I enjoy everyday looking at the window and watching their behaviors. I have always loved wildlife. I'll draw a range from raccoons up toward Mtn Sheep. Nature is a great gift. Makes you feel good. Mother Nature provides beauty and an outlook.

I hope to not only showcased my artwork here, but give some opinions and advice of what I have seen and been through as an ongoing artist.  Through the years some people have asked me to give art tips. I hope it helps anyone and feel free to ask me questions.
